CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR GCSE STUDENTS ON THEIR EXCELLENT RESULTS!

Posted on: August 24th - 2023

We are delighted to celebrate with our year 11 students who have received a fantastic set of GCSE results. The class of 2023 have risen to the challenge of the first full specification courses since the pandemic and, due their hard work and commitment, fully deserve such excellent results. We want to thank our families for their ongoing support and also our staff team who have worked tirelessly with these students to help them on their road to success.

With over 200 students receiving GCSE results, our students achieved nearly 2000 qualifications. Of these, 30% were graded as 9-7, in stark contrast to the national average for boys at 19%.  The school’s overall pass rate (9-4) was an extremely impressive 83%, a staggering 18% above the national average for boys.  We are incredibly proud of our students; they have once again continued Langley Park’s fine tradition of securing excellent GCSE outcomes.

A large number of our students have exceeded all expectations and we are equally proud of them for their hard work and endeavour since joining the school. An Individual’s progress is tracked against their expected end point to see how well they have attained; a student therefore with a +1.00 progress score, will have achieved on average 1 grade higher than expected in all of their subjects, a student with a +2.00 progress score will have achieved on average 2 grades higher and so on. The following students therefore should rightfully be congratulated for their work ethic.

Pratik Dhar     +3.13

Oscar Child      +3.10

Ethan Senthitkumaran    +2.93

Cameron Hasgul   +2.53

Harry Payne     +2.13

Suzanne Munday, our Headteacher has shared her words below:

“This year group have impressed me through their hard work, tenacity and desire to succeed. Having had some of their most formative years in secondary school disrupted by the pandemic, they have risen to the challenge of full GCSE courses, graded at 2019 standards. We are so proud of everything that they have achieved with a high proportion of top grades and some fantastic individual results. I am very pleased that so many of our students will be staying with us into the sixth form and wish all those who are leaving the school all the best in their future endeavours.”
